YOUR SKIPPER

Jean-Marc demonstrated a taste for adventure, boats and the sea at a tender age - he was already a budding sailor by the summer of 1964!.

Later, after serving in the French merchant navy, Jean-Marc improved his nautical skills with courses at the French sailing schools of “Les Glénans” and “Macif Centre de Voile”, which naturally opened the doors to the recreational sailing world.

Especially fond of the eastern Mediterranean area, where he spent ten years or so exploring Greece and its many islands on foot, by boat, alone or with his family, he also set about learning and using the modern Greek language so that he would be able to converse with and get ‘beneath the surface’ of the local inhabitants and their ways and traditions.

After 20 years of working in the IT world, he finally “took the plunge”, leaving a high-powered job in Paris to pursue his dream and share his enthusiasm & experience with others. For this, he purchased “Oniros”, a brand new 43-foot ‘Océanis’ yacht straight out of the celebrated Bénéteau shipyard.

These days, on the quaysides of the Aegean, Jean-Marc has made a name for himself for his talents as a raconteur as well as for his sound advice and warm sense of hospitality.
